Cobalt Blue and White Handled Soup Bowls

$32.00

These white and cobalt blue handled bowls are a fantastic size for a bowl of hearty stew. They could be used for pasta or chili or cereal. Any meal or snack is enhanced by a handmade bowl, and the handle makes this a bowl that can roam around the house with ease. These include a pretty blue spiral, and may make a nice serving bowl or prep bowl.

Dimensions: Approximately 6" across and 3" tall. These bowls easily hold 2 cups or more. Please note, these are handmade objects and the measurements are not exact. Expect some subtle variation in the size or color of each piece.

Note for this specific clay and glaze combo: these colors are actually pretty consistent. Where you will see some variation is in the swirl on each bowl, and in some cases the blue might be just slightly lighter due to a thicker coat of white glaze.

This listing is for a single bowl, I currently have 2. If you would like to buy the set of 2, or if you'd like to combine one of these bowls with another mug or bowl to make a set of 2, I will offer a 2$ discount for each item. Please message me at jillspawn@jillspots.com if you would like to purchase a set, and I will create a custom listing with your chosen items.

These pieces were made with cone 5 Bmix clay on my potters wheel. Cobalt slip (a blend of liquified clay and cobalt) was applied to the outside of each bowl to create the blue color. A subtle spiral shape was then pressed into the bowl, giving fingers a nice place to rest. The bowls have a flat foot, and the handle was hand pulled and rounded for comfort.
