Bmix Woodfired Textured High Shouldered Swirl Vase

$55.00

This beautiful ceramic wood fired vase is a perfect size, it's not too big or too small. The generous opening can handle a fairly full bouquet of flowers, or anything you might like to display. It can work on an end table or book case, but it's big enough (and gorgeous enough) to be a centerpiece.

The vase was glazed in the inside with a white liner glaze, for easy cleaning. It stands 6" tall, it's just under 4" wide at the lip, and almost 5" across shoulder.

The outside of the piece was left unglazed so the wood fire could leave behind it's natural markings and finish. This vase was really blessed in the firing - it's has beautiful flashes of orange all around it, and some golden melted ash in a few different spots.

This piece was made using white Bmix Clay. I used a slip (slip is clay, watered down and blended to a milkshake consistency) made of the same clay to create the texture. The slip was coated over the outside of the vase, then a jagged brush was used to create the texture. Finally, I used a rib to press the swirl shape in through the textured slip.
