Dark Green Ceramic Planter
Dark Green Ceramic Planter
This handsome handcrafted planter will be a beautiful home for any small plant or succulent. Built-in holes drain into the attached saucer, helping keep your plants healthy and happy. Spruce up your space with this glazed pot, or gift it to a plant-loving friend.
This white stoneware planter is glazed in my Peacock Green and Midnight Black glazes, creating a deep forest green that shifts in intensity over the textured white clay surface. The color is striking and versatile, complementing a wide range of décor styles. Its small size fits easily on a desk, shelf, or windowsill—and it’s just as perfect for a front stoop or patio table.

This piece is 5" wide at the lip and 4.5" wide at the base. The pot stands 3" tall and includes two drainage holes, each about the size of a large bean.

This planter makes a beautiful addition to a sunny windowsill, desk, or bookshelf. It's suitable for indoor or outdoor use, and works well for small houseplants, succulents, cacti, or herbs.
Care
All of my pottery is microwave and dishwasher safe.
Process
This planter was made on my potter’s wheel using white cone 5 BMix clay. The texture around the pot was created by applying a thick layer of slip—a blend of clay and water—then brushing through the surface with a jagged brush. A drainage galley was thrown around the bottom of the pot, and two drainage holes were added at the base. The rim and attached saucer were first dipped in my Midnight Black glaze. Then the body of the pot was glazed in Peacock Green, stopping just above the saucer. The overlapping layers of black and green glaze create a rich, dark green surface with depth and variation.
This piece was fired to Cone 6 in an electric kiln at my studio in Avondale Arizona.
