Blue Green Planter with Attached Drainage Saucer

$50.00

This handmade stoneware planter features a striking blue-green glaze, accented by a second layer along the rim that creates a swirling, oceanic finish. The glaze breaks softly over the curves, highlighting the gentle spiral in the form. Its open shape and wide lip create an inviting piece that pairs beautifully with lush foliage or sculptural succulents.

Details
The planter stands 5 ¼" tall and measures 7 ½" wide at the lip, and 6" across the base. The interior planting depth is approximately 5", with a taper at the bottom 1½". Crafted from Rod’s Bod clay, a durable dark stoneware, and fired to cone 10 in a reduction kiln. Three dime-sized drainage holes are included at the base for optimal plant health.

Use
Ideal for indoor plants, herbs, or compact outdoor arrangements. The rich glaze colors complement green leaves and flowering plants alike, making this piece both functional and decorative.

Process
Thrown on the potter’s wheel using Rod’s Bod clay, this planter was shaped, dried, and bisque fired before glazing. The surface was finished in a blue-green glaze that deepens beautifully in cone 10 reduction firing, creating natural variations in tone and a semi-gloss surface.
