Details
Each mug measures about 4.75" tall and 3.25" wide at the lip, holding 14 ounces when filled to the brim. Made from durable cone 10 B-Mix stoneware, this mug is microwave and dishwasher safe for easy daily use.

Choose from Style A, Style B, Style C, or Style D—or select a set of 2 mugs. Each mug is the same size and shape, but the hand-applied swirl and glaze variations make every piece one-of-a-kind. If you order a set of 2, you’ll save $4, and I’ll carefully choose two that complement each other beautifully. (If you’d prefer to pick your own pair, just send me a message.)

Use:
This mug is designed for daily enjoyment—ideal for a generous morning coffee, a cozy cup of tea, or hot chocolate. Its weight and balance feel good in the hand, while the wide lip and comfortable handle make it a pleasure to use.

Process:
Each mug begins as a ball of clay, wheel-thrown and shaped by hand. While still wet, I applied a brown iron oxide slip (a liquid clay mixture) to the exterior. A ragged brush was dragged through the slip as the cup spun on the wheel, and then a rubber rib was used to press the swirl texture into the design. After bisque firing, the interior and lip were glazed in Goldspot, a warm tan, while the outside was finished in rutile glaze—a transparent layer that breaks into soft blues and lavenders around the ridges of the slip.
