Robins Egg Blue Pottery Vase with Blue Streak

$46.00

Elegant and modern, this handmade vase features a slender neck and flared foot, highlighted by streaks of blue clay against a robins egg blue-green body. Standing about 5.5 inches tall, it balances refined form with organic movement, making it an eye-catching accent for any space.

Details
The vase measures 5.5" tall, 2.5" across the rim, and it's about 4.25" wide at the belly. Its slimmer profile and slightly flared base give it a graceful silhouette, perfect for displaying single stems or small floral arrangements. Crafted from colored stoneware, it is watertight and built to last. This piece is dishwasher safe for easy cleanup.

Use
A beautiful choice for fresh or dried flowers, or as a minimalist art piece on its own. Its compact size works well for bookshelves, desks or side tables. Pairs well with the Robins Egg & Blue Streaked Vase (linked below), but the vase is also lovely enough on it's own.

Process
This vase was thrown on my potter's wheel using BMix 5 clay, a white clay. Some of the clay used was stained blue, the rest was stained robins egg blue. The robins egg, and blue clay was stacked together carefully to create a single ball of clay, from which this piece was thrown. The blue-green body and the blue streak that runs through it is a part of the pots wall, rather than a surface decoration. This process ensures the design is unique to each piece.

This vase was glazed in my transparent Robins Egg Blue glaze. This slightly deepened the robins egg blue color, while allowing the blue clay streak to shine through. The piece was fired to cone 6 in my electric kiln.
