Lilac Large Textured Pottery Mug

These mugs stand 3 1/2" tall, measures about 4" wide across the lip, and will hold about 14 ounces when filled to the top. The generous size and ergonomic handle makes these mugs perfect for your daily brew. These could even double as soup mugs or desert bowls.

Process
These mugs were made with cone 5 B-Mix (white stoneware) clay on my potter's wheel. Slip (a blend of water and clay blended smooth) was applied to the outside of the mug while it was still wet on the wheel. To create the texture, a ragged brush was drug through the wet slip as the cup spun on the wheel.

These mugs were glazed with Milky Gloss White glaze on the interior and rim. The outer mug was glazed in my Lilac glaze. This is a transparent, glossy glaze that runs and flows around the slip texture. The texture adds some light and shadow play to the lilac color, and it feels nice to touch.

The bottle stands 6.5 inches tall. The metal spout adds over an inch and a half, the plastic spout also included will add about an inch. The bottle is about 4" at the widest point, and the base measures 2.75" across. It easily holds 15 ounces.

Both a metal spout and a clear plastic spout is included, the plastic spout is recommended if using your bottle for vinegar. All of my pottery is microwave and dishwasher safe.

Use
This bottle works beautifully for serving olive oil, vinegar, or syrups, and it can also double as a small vase for fresh greenery or flowers. Its timeless design makes it as useful as it is decorative.

True Blue Small Mug
