True Blue Small Mug

$28.00

These little True Blue mugs have a rich, saturated cobalt blue glaze that transitions into deeper blue-black, with swirling variations in color around the upper portion of each mug. Their rounded shape and distinctive pulled handles give them a comfortable, substantial feel despite their smaller size.

Easily holding 8 ounces, these wheel-thrown stoneware mugs are a lovely size for espresso drinks, a small cup of coffee or tea, or any time you want a little something warm. Each mug is individually handmade, so expect subtle variations that make every piece unique.

Process
These mugs were made with cone 5 B-Mix (white stoneware) clay on my potter's wheel. Once the mugs were leather hard (dry enough to hold) the handles were added and shaped by hand.

After drying and bisque firing, these mugs were glazed with Midnight glaze on the interior and rim. The outer mug was glazed in my True Blue glaze. A quick dip of Opal glaze was added around the rim, adding some swirls of variation between the deep blue and black. The mugs were fired to cone 6 in my electric kiln.
