These one-of-a-kind mugs feature a slip textured surface with a fresh combination of soft robin's egg blue and bold cobalt blue. The transparent robins egg glaze lets the layers of blue slip show through, while the splattered areas add loose, spontaneous marks across the surface. The result is a mug with plenty of texture and movement, with each one developing its own unique pattern.
At about 14 ounces, this is the larger version of my textured mug with a wide, bowl-like shape that makes it especially versatile. It's a generous mug for coffee, tea, or your favorite everyday drink, but the shape also works beautifully as a small soup bowl, dessert bowl, or snack bowl. The combination of soft blue glaze, deep cobalt accents, and tactile texture makes it a colorful and distinctive piece for everyday use.

Mug Style A measures about 3.75" tall and 3.75" wide at the lip.
Mug Style B measures 3.75" tall, and flares out to 4" wide at the lip.
Both mugs hold 14 ounces when filled to brim.
Made from durable cone 5 B-Mix stoneware, these mugs are glazed with a transparent Robin’s Egg Blue exterior and a white Milky Gloss interior. They are microwave and dishwasher safe for easy, everyday use.
Use
Perfect for your morning coffee or afternoon tea. The slip textured body and smooth, hand-formed handle make these mugs comfortable to hold and a joy to use. These cups have a nice wide mouth, they could even double as a soup mug or cereal bowl.

Process
These mugs were made with cone 5 B-Mix (white stoneware) clay on my potter's wheel. Slip (a blend of water and clay blended smooth) was applied to the outside of the mug while it was still wet on the wheel. To create the texture, a ragged brush was drug through the wet slip as the cup spun on the wheel. For the blue and robins egg splatters, I created a slip of each of the 2 colors, blending the cobalt and robins egg stains into the white slip. Then I splattered first the blue slip on the leather hard mug, followed by the lighter colored robins egg blue slip.
These mugs were glazed with Milky Gloss White glaze on the interior and rim. The outer mug was glazed in my Robins Egg Blue glaze. This is a transparent, glossy glaze that runs and flows around the slip texture. It allows the cobalt to shine boldly through, and while the blue green color intensifies on the robins egg slip.
This one-of-a-kind wood fired mug combines rich purple glaze with a deeply textured brown surface, creating a beautiful contrast between glossy color and earthy texture. The organic, ridged surface gives the mug a tactile quality that makes it especially enjoyable to hold, while the deep blue-purple glaze adds a bold pop of color around the upper portion.
At approximately 12 ounces, this mug is a comfortable size for coffee, tea, or your favorite everyday drink. Like all of my pottery, it is made by hand and designed to be both beautiful and functional.

The mug stands around 4.75 inches tall, and just over 3 inches across the lip. They hold around 12 ounces, and all of my pottery is microwave and dishwasher safe.
