To create these vases, I blended a Robins Egg Blue stain into some cone 5 Bmix clay. I then used the clay to throw these vases on my potters wheel. I added a layer of white slip (slip is a blend of clay and water) around the belly of the vase, and used a jagged brush to add the texture through the wet slip. The vases were then fired in my transparent Robins Egg glaze, which brightened the color and added some tint to the white slip. These vases were fired to cone 6 in my electric kiln.
