Robins Egg Blue Green Splattered Textured Mug 8 ounces
These one-of-a-kind mugs feature a slip textured surface in a soft Robin's Egg Blue glaze with splashes of cobalt and robins egg blue slip showing through underneath. The loose, scattered marks add a little unpredictability to the surface, while the slip layers give the mug its tactile, organic character. Each mug has its own unique arrangement of color and texture.
At a little over 8 ounces, this is the smaller version of my textured mug – a great size for a smaller cup of coffee or tea, espresso drinks, or whatever you like to sip. Its compact size and combination of soft blue green and bold cobalt make it a fun, everyday handmade mug.
Details
Both mugs stand about 3.25" tall, measure 3.5" wide across the lip, and will hold 8 ounces with a little room for milk and sugar. This sweet little mug is ideal for espresso, cappuccino, or herbal tea. It's also a great gift idea for kids, or for pairing with a larger mug as a cute gift set.
Use
These mugs are perfect for a smaller, more intentional cup - ideal for espresso drinks, tea, or a quick morning coffee. They also work wonderfully for kids’ drinks or as a cozy companion cup alongside a larger mug.

Process
These mugs were made with cone 5 B-Mix (white stoneware) clay on my potter's wheel. Slip (a blend of water and clay blended smooth) was applied to the outside of the mug while it was still wet on the wheel. To create the texture, a ragged brush was drug through the wet slip as the cup spun on the wheel. For the blue and robins egg splatters, I created a slip of each of the 2 colors, blending the cobalt and robins egg stains into the white slip. Then I splattered first the blue slip on the leather hard mug, followed by the lighter colored robins egg blue slip.
These mugs were glazed with Milky Gloss White glaze on the interior and rim. The outer mug was glazed in my Robins Egg Blue glaze. This is a transparent, glossy glaze that runs and flows around the slip texture. It allows the cobalt to shine boldly through, and while the blue green color intensifies on the robins egg slip.
This one-of-a-kind wood fired mug combines rich purple glaze with a deeply textured brown surface, creating a beautiful contrast between glossy color and earthy texture. The organic, ridged surface gives the mug a tactile quality that makes it especially enjoyable to hold, while the deep blue-purple glaze adds a bold pop of color around the upper portion.
At approximately 12 ounces, this mug is a comfortable size for coffee, tea, or your favorite everyday drink. Like all of my pottery, it is made by hand and designed to be both beautiful and functional.

The mug stands around 4.75 inches tall, and just over 3 inches across the lip. They hold around 12 ounces, and all of my pottery is microwave and dishwasher safe.
