Speckled White Planter

$42.00

This handmade ceramic planter with attached saucer is wheel thrown and finished in a warm speckled white glaze, offering a clean, modern look with organic character. The softly rounded bowl sits on a pedestal-style base of exposed clay, creating subtle contrast and elevating your favorite houseplants in style. Perfect for small plants, succulents, herbs, or starter plants, this pottery planter combines functional drainage with sculptural form.

Gas reduction fired to cone 10, the glazed surface develops natural depth and variation, while the integrated saucer makes watering easy and mess-free.

Process
This planter was made on my potter’s wheel using Rods Bod, a stoneware clay that develops to a dark brown in an oxygen reduced firing. A swirl was added to the wet form to give the shape movement and texture. A drainage galley was thrown around the base, and two drainage holes were added for healthy drainage. The exterior and saucer were glazed in a glossy white, allowing the iron speckled surface to peak through the glaze.

This piece was fired to Cone 10 in reduction at Desert Dragon Pottery in North Phoenix.
