Robins Egg and Blue Streaked Vase

$0.00

This handmade stoneware vase combines graceful curves with a modern streaked design. Standing just over 5.5 inches tall, it features a gently rounded belly and wide lip. Both blue and robins egg blue-toned clay streaks run through the paler blue-green body, creating a natural, painterly flow. A striking yet versatile piece, perfect for fresh flowers, dried stems, or as a stand-alone display.

Details
Measures a little over 5.5" tall, 3.5" wide at the lip, and it measures about 4.5" across the belly. The rounded body shape gives it a classic silhouette with a contemporary twist, thanks to the flowing colored clay pattern. Made from stoneware, it is watertight and durable. The vase is dishwasher safe for easy cleanup.

Use
Display as a centerpiece with flowers, or let it shine on its own as a decorative accent. Its compact size works well on shelves, side tables, or desks.

Process
This vase was thrown on my potter's wheel using BMix 5 clay, a white clay. Some of the clay used was stained blue, or robins egg blue. The white, robins egg, and blue clay was stacked together carefully to create a single ball of clay, from which this piece was thrown. The colored clay is part of the pots wall, rather than a surface decoration. This process ensures the design is unique to each piece.

This vase was glazed in my transparent Robins Egg Blue glaze. This added the light blue-green coloring to the white clay, white still allowing the blue and robins egg clay to shine through. The piece was fired to cone 6 in my electric kiln.
