Snowy White Swirl Oil or Vinegar Bottle
Snowy White Swirl Oil or Vinegar Bottle
Bring elegance and function to your kitchen or table with this wheel-thrown stoneware bottle, finished in a glossy white glaze. The dynamic swirl lines around its body add movement and character, while the tall, narrow form makes it ideal for serving or display. Its clean, minimalist style allows it to blend seamlessly with both rustic and modern settings.
Details
Standing 7" tall (without the spout), this bottle is crafted from durable cone 10 stoneware. The glossy white glaze enhances its smooth surface, while subtle swirls in the form make it comfortable to grasp and hold. The bottle measures nearly 4" across it's widest point, and it holds 15 ounces (around 450 ml). I'll include both a plastic and metal spout with the piece, so you can choose the one that best suits your needs.
Fired in a cone 10 reduction kiln, the glaze takes on a depth and softness unique to this firing process. The piece is food safe, microwave safe, and dishwasher safe, designed for everyday use.
Use
This bottle works beautifully for serving olive oil, vinegar, or syrups, and it can also double as a small vase for fresh greenery or flowers. Its timeless design makes it as useful as it is decorative.
Process
The crock was thrown on my potters wheel using BMix clay, a white stoneware. The swirl shape was added by pressing into the side of the pot using the rounded end of a rubber rib, as my fingers pressed out from the interior of the pot. The rib and my interior hand moved up the pot as it spun, pressing in the swirl shape with a single pass.
After drying and bisque firing, the piece was glazed in white liner glaze, and then fired to cone 10 in a reduction atmosphere. This firing style brings out subtle richness in the glaze, making each bottle a one-of-a-kind piece.
