These lovely handcrafted ceramic mugs will bring some charm to your daily cup of tea, coffee or espresso. These cups are available in 2 sizes, a generous 12 oz mug, and a smaller 8 oz espresso cup. Each mug was created from durable stoneware clay on the potter's wheel, featuring a comfortable hand-pulled handle and a softly slip textured surface.
Details
These mugs stand 3 1/2" tall, measure 3 3/4" wide across the lip, and will hold 12 ounces with a bit of room for cream or milk. The generous size and ergonomic handle makes these mugs perfect for your daily brew. These could even double as soup mugs or desert bowls.

Process
These mugs were made with cone 5 B-Mix clay on my potters wheel. Slip (a blend of water and clay blended smooth) was applied to the outside of the mug while it was still wet on the wheel. To create the texture, a ragged brush was drug through the wet slip as the cup slowly spun on the wheel.
The mugs were glazed with Milky Gloss White glaze on the interior and rim. The outer mug was glazed in my Lilac glaze. This is a transparent, glossy glaze the runs and flows around the slip texture. The texture adds some light and shadow play to the lilac color, and it feels nice to touch.
