Lilac Textured Pottery Vase
Lilac Textured Pottery Vase
Soft color and subtle texture come together in this elegant wheel-thrown vase. The exterior is finished in a gentle lilac purple glaze that reveals fine, tactile ridges beneath the surface, while the interior and lip gleam with a smooth white gloss. Its slender form and calming palette make it a versatile addition to any shelf, mantle, or tabletop.
Details
This vase stands 7.75" tall, measures 3.5" across the lip, and is approximately 4" wide at the belly. Made from white stoneware and fired to cone 6, it features a lilac glaze on the exterior and a white milky gloss glaze on the interior, ensuring both beauty and function.
Use
Ideal for a small bouquet, dried stems, or as a standalone art piece. Its soothing color and clean lines bring a sense of calm and refinement to any setting.
Process
The vase was thrown on my potter’s wheel using white stoneware clay, cone 5 Bmix. A white slip (clay and water blended smooth) was brushed onto the surface to create subtle texture before glazing. After bisque firing, the vase was finished with a lilac exterior glaze and a white milky gloss interior, then fired to cone 6 for durability and a pretty finish.
