Details
Measuring 6 3/4" tall, 3 1/4" across the lip, and approximately 4" wide at the belly, this vase is made from durable stoneware and fired to cone 10.
Use
Perfect for small flower arrangements, greenery, or as a bright accent piece on a shelf or side table. The earthy blue and purple palette pairs beautifully with rustic, modern organic, farmhouse, wabi-sabi, or eclectic interiors. The piece is dishwasher safe for easy cleanup.
Process
This vase was wheel-thrown on my potter's wheel using rods bod stoneware clay. White clay slip (watered down clay blended smooth) was applied using a jagged brush, to create the textured surface.
After drying and bisque firing, the piece was glazed in Rutile glaze. It was then fired to cone 10, resulting in a glossy, durable finish that highlights the subtle texture beneath the glaze. This piece was fired to cone 10 in a reduced oxygen atmosphere.
