$56.00

Bring color and warmth to your favorite plant with this handmade stoneware planter, finished in a softly layered Rutile glaze. The surface reveals gentle variations of lavender, blue, and tan where the glaze pools and breaks, highlighting the movement of the form and slip texture beneath. With its tall shape and subtle narrowing at the base, this planter provides a graceful silhouette that complements any plant or decor style.

Details
This planter stands 6 ¼" tall and 7 ¼" wide at the lip. The inner planting depth is approximately 6", with the bottom 2" tapering in a bit. Made from Rod’s Bod clay, a rich dark stoneware, along with a white clay slip for added texture and color variation. Three drainage holes—each about the size of a dime—are built into the base to promote healthy drainage. Fired to cone 10 in a reduction atmosphere for strength and durability.

Use
Perfect for medium-sized houseplants, herbs, or succulents. This piece can be used indoors or outdoors, and its natural, layered colors pair beautifully with both green foliage and flowering plants.

Process
Each planter is wheel-thrown from Rod’s Bod clay, known for its strength and warm, speckled tone. After shaping and refining the form, white slip (a blind of clay and water) was used to add some texture to the outter belly of the planter. After drying the piece was bisque fired, then coated with Rutile Lavender Blue glaze. The reduction firing at cone 10 enhances the glaze’s depth and variation, producing unique hues of lavender and blue that shift in natural light.
