Process
This piece was made on my potter’s wheel using a warm brown stoneware clay. The actual (cup shaped) plant pot was thrown first. After it firmed up just a bit, I reattached the cup/planter upside down, back onto the center of the wheel. I then attached a short, fat ring of fresh clay to the bottom of the pot, and threw the stem up from there. It was glazed with 2 overlapping layers of Rutile glaze, which create soft, foamy swirls in lavender, blue and tan over the warm stoneware surface. This piece was fired to cone 10 in reduction at the Desert Dragon Pottery Studio in North Phoenix Arizona.

Care
All of my pottery is microwave and dishwasher safe unless otherwise noted.
