Optional Porta Via silicone lid available in the dropdown menu

I use Porta Via silicone lids in my own home—they are flexible, durable, and fit many of the handmade mugs and tumblers in my cabinets. You can choose to include a lid with your order or purchase the tumbler on its own. It will come unused, in it's own packaging - it is the medium size.

Whether you’re sipping your morning coffee, staying hydrated throughout the day, or displaying fresh blooms, this handmade tumbler is as functional as it is artful.

Process
This piece was wheel-thrown using BMix clay, a white stoneware. The interior and top few inches was fired with Woo Blue glaze, the bottom portion of the cup was left unglazed. This piece was fired in a wood kiln, where the flame, ash, and heat worked together to create its distinctive surface. The flowing blue glaze melts seamlessly into warm earthy tones, with unique markings from the firing process.

Wood firing pottery is a traditional method where pottery is fired in a kiln fueled solely by wood, resulting in unique colors, textures, and patterns due to the interaction of flame and ash with the clay surfaces. The process infuses every piece with both the warmth of the fire and the community effort involved in firing the wood kiln.

This piece was wood fired at the Desert Dragon Pottery Studio in North Phoenix, AZ.
