This wheel-thrown piece features a striking rutile and woo blue glaze combination over stoneware. The layered glazes create flowing patterns of blue, purple, and warm earthy brown. Two drainage holes keep your plants happy, while the attached saucer keeps your space clean. This pretty planter is ideal for displaying on shelves, desks, or patios.
Dimensions
Approximately 3.5" tall, 4.75" wide at the lip, and 3.75" wide at the base. This pot includes 2 drainage holes at the base.

Process
The vase was thrown on my pottery wheel using a stoneware clay. The swirl shape was added by pressing into the side of the pot using the rounded end of a rubber rib, as my fingers pressed out slightly above from the interior of the pot. The rib and my interior hand moved up the pot as it spun, swiftly pressing in the swirl shape with a single pass. The pot was glazed in Woo Blue at the rim and base, then layered with Rutile all over the piece (excluding the exterior which is unglazed). This piece was fired to cone 10 at the Desert Dragon Pottery in North Phoenix Arizona.
