Lilac Pottery Planter with Saucer and Drainage
Brighten your space with this cheerful lilac ceramic planter. This charming piece was handcrafted on the potter’s wheel, and finished with a soft lilac glaze over the creamy white stoneware. Built-in drainage holes ensure healthy roots, while the attached saucer protects your surfaces from excess water. Dimensions
This piece is 4.5" wide at the lip and 3.5" wide at the base. The pot is 3" tall and includes two drainage holes, each about the size of a large bean.
Use
Well-suited for small houseplants, herbs, or succulents. Ideal for indoor or outdoor display.
Process
This planter was made on my potter’s wheel using cone 5 B-Mix, a white stoneware clay. A textured layer of slip (a mix of clay and water) was applied with a jagged brush to create organic ridges and depth. The form was finished with a glossy lilac glaze over the entire exterior and saucer. The piece was fired to Cone 6 in my electric kiln, at my studio in Avondale Arizona.
